2021.12.06 20:04 Adept-Category7880 Does anyone else think Norm was one of the best talk show hosts of all time?
I mean that, seriously.
His guest choices were perfect. Everyone he picked, no matter how unfunny or boring (Margaret Cho, Todd Glass) he was genuinely interested by, and wanted to know more about.
He picked a genuine real life friend as a sidekick, which made it seem very authentic. He let Adam engage in the dialogue, and made him say stupid shit, so he had a role in the show (no matter how humiliating it was for him) as opposed to other talk shows where sometimes the sidekick tries to interrupt and get a word in.
Ironically, the lack of a live audience made it feel loose and let the viewer find stuff funny for their own reason, rather than just laugh because the audience is laughing.
Why wasn’t he given a show on an actual network?

2021.12.06 20:04 An_Eye_In_The_Skies Reduce the Importance of Grenades in Ranked - Constructive Criticism to 343 Industries
Doing away with the thrust ability everybody had and fast sprint that H5 and H4 had, combined with the reduced time to kill, I feel the amount of grenade frags inflicted and suffered abound.
Grenades in the Halo meta are supposed to be a well considered instrument to trap enemies that are improvidently chasing you, forcing them to leave cover, or to block escape ways or flanks, and the like. Either the amount players carry off spawn should be reduced to 1, or they should simply be items you can only pick up on the map.
One can say, it is simply a lack of skill not to evade grenades properly, not staying in certain spots, etc. Even with a reduced amount of starting grenades, or if grenades were only on the map, this tactical element would not be lost. Nonetheless we must recognise that having grenades in the game to such an extent shapes and defines the way in which positioning is pursued. I hold that unlike in previous Halo titles, where skill manifested in being able to hold a setup and dominate the opposing team with letting them spawn in a less advantageous position, or at least outside of the advantageous position and securing against flanks, in Halo Infinite there is no map currently with a position that nade spam cannot drive a team out. That requires certainly less skill that conducting a well coordinated binding-and-over-flanking maneuver.
Beyond the status quo, I understand they wont change it. And the fanboys will defend it and say "it's halo, leave if you dont like it". Nobody will have a reflected debate about whether it is actually adding to the game in a fun, meaningful and competitive way - in every Halo title so far. Eventhough grenade evasion IS in fact a skill, it is totally legit to criticise the importance grenades take up in this game in general. Pro-players learned to live with it, as they would learn to live with anything, because it is their job to do so. I personally see a strong argument to reduce the impact grenades have in halo. While it is wrong to say that grenade tactics and evasion do not involve any skill, it is certainly justified to say that they involve less skill than a pure gun duel and flanking maneuvers. Nading certain spots by default has become an auto-action you need to do. That is why allowing them to have such a big impact it is a bad design element in my idea. - It is basically having a rocket launcher in your backpack. The question is: why give every player a rocket launcher? It decreases the importance of gun skill.
We need to look it at this way: You almost never throw a grenade being 100% sure that you will get a frag, and when you do get a grenade kill, you feel lucky; you don't feel you put in much effort. On the contrary, you can immediately tell from which shots you should get a kill 100%, and you don't feel surprised if you do get a kill you put the respective effort in with shooting. - This is however not a total argument against grenades in a game, but it certainly supports the notion, that they add more randomness to the game.
Flair wise it also doesn't make much sense to give a supersoldier so many grenades in their training simulations. In a game with around 90 frags, and 2 grenades per spawn, that is around 180 grenades thrown, plus the ones picked up on the map... basically 90 rockets. I don't see the point of this. Grenades should be, as in reality, a high impact and expensive tactical weapon to be used in a sophisticated way, and not´, as it is since Halo CE: spawn, auto-throw; losing a gun duel, auto-throw; enemy escapes around a corner, auto-throw.
But the Halo community is not ready for this. And every pro player will tell you it is fine, because that is what they are trained to use. I personally think it takes away fun and reason from the game.
TLDR: Nobody will listen when we say, the extent of nade spam (not grenades being in the game per se) in this game is ludicrious, not fun, does not involve considerable or justifiable skill and does not make sense. The stick-in-the-muds will say: get gud.

2021.12.06 20:04 PugnaciousPangolin How often do y'all fight Giovanni during a month?
I work in San Francisco but I'm usually to busy to play (which is not a bad thing). I can usually grind a TR Leader Radar about once every two three days, which means that I'm only getting the chance to take on Giovanni about once or twice a month.
